Hi there! I’m Julia, and I’m in the process of completing my Master’s in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University.
My professional background is varied, with having owned my own business over the last several years, working with Pearls Space (formerly Howe Sound Women’s Centre) and Sea to Sky Community Services. Working for these community agencies, amongst others, has given me the invaluable hands-on experience to effectively hone my skills working with diverse populations, with complex presenting concerns.
On a personal note, after moving to BC without knowing anyone, establishing a community and investing in my own personal growth became imperative for balancing the complexities of day-to-day life. Currently, in true Squamish fashion, hiking the backcountry, my dog and my bike are some of things that help keep me grounded in the hecticness of life.
I draw from an eclectic background of theories, some of which include Client-Centred, Narrative Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, all with the goal of creating a safe and collaborative space where clients can explore their unique narratives and find empowerment in their life circumstances.
My rate is $50 an hour; however, if this is a barrier to accessing help, please reach out, as I offer a sliding scale to those in need.
